Relaxing in the evening sun. The spot behind me was called the lagoon. On high tide there is about 4 feet of water. We saw 2 sharks 4 feet from the shore on high tide. On low tide you can do a reef walk and see lots of neat stuff. Mark going on a snorkle with dad. We were in about 30 feet of water.
Ryan scuba diving. He was in about 10 meters of water.
Roy going for a snorkle Roy scuba diving

I love this fish....It was about 20 cm long
Can you spot the shark? You may have to click on the photo to blow it up.

The Manta Ray

Our trip to Lady Elliot

The Manta Ray
We had a great time on the island. Ryan and I went scuba diving which was a blast. We also done lots of snorkling. We went through 5 disposable underwater cameras. The Great Barrier Reef is awsome. It sure is a sight to see. The coral is pretty to look at. Snorkling there is like being in a huge aquarium. The 3 coolest things we saw was a manta ray, sharks and turtles. Lot and lots of turtles. Photos to come. The turtles are really friendly. They'll let you swim up to them and scratch them. We all got a scratch in. The sharks on the other hand are not as friendly. They don't bother you. They really have no interest in you at all. On the last day, there was talk of a manta ray hanging out by the lighthouse. We had a glassbottem boat tour booked the night before and they took us out. At the last minute we saw what we were looking for. The boat operater turned around and Ryan and I jumped off the boat for a closer look. We got to about 20 feet of the Manta Ray. It was one of the coolest things I have ever saw. They are so graceful. Carol got a photo of it from the boat. I'll post more when I get the photos developed.

On one of our trips we went to a place called the Glasshouse mountains. We drove up one and they have a real nice picnic area. They also have a trail that you can walk around which is also nice.

This photo was taken about 30 seconds after I jumped. I made Ryan jump first. Just in case I had to push him.

This is Coolum Beach. It is about a 3 min walk from were I live. The rocks is where I set my camera so it would not get wet. Then somebody walked off with it. I do not take my new camera to the beach.

Carol and I went to the Australian Zoo(Steve Irwin's zoo) before I went to work. I am trying to get a couple of good photos of Koalas. I think I have got a few good ones.
