Happy 18th Birthday Ryan!

September 7th was Ryan's 18th Birthday! When he got home from work we took him out for supper along with his friend. He had rugby practice with the men's team that night. When he got home from that we took him and another friend to a bar and bought them each a shooter, beer and some wings. Ryan's first birthday.
We've been telling him for years he was getting luggage for his 18th b-day.

Cherry cheese cake was what he opted for...same as always.

Alberta Summer Games

Ryan went to the Alberta Summer Games last week. Their team won the gold!! They won every game and only had one try scored against them.

Hey mother, thought I would post some pics of my plants so you could see how they are doing. I'm definitely not a gardener.

I was going to dig this plant up but Roy didn't want me to. It looked dead forever but now it is finally doing something. Before

Our first attempt at a garden...some peas. Before

Wasn't sure if this was a weed or a plant but I decided to keep it and see. Before...

After...still not sure but it is pretty.

Ryan Walking Across the Stage

Trip to Banff with Nanny

Ryan trying to recover from Safe Grad. He crawled into bed around 4 am.

We camped for one night in Banff. This was the day after Ryan's grad...he went to bed fairly early. It rained for a few short minutes and then it was beautiful that night and the next day. If you look real close you can see the mountain through the trees.
Roy tending the morning fire.
Bow Falls. Banff Springs Hotel.

Ryans Grad

Ryan had his graduation ceremony June 4th, followed by the banquet and safe grad. It was hard to smile with our eyes open with the sun shining in our eyes.

Ryan getting ready for the banquet.

Ryan and Amanda.

Dion Pheneuf was given an award. He went to Hunting Hills. We weren't going to post his picture because he use to play for Calgary Flames, but since he was traded we thought we would make an exception.

Ryan's Car

We surprised Ryan with his second first car for his graduation gift. His first first car was sold when we moved to Australia and he never got to drive it. This car is a 1999 Dodge Neon. Now all he needs is a license and job to put fuel in it.

Ryan Playing Rugby

Ryan's high school played Rocky Mountain high school today. They lost 10-5 but it was one of their best games. Very entertaining to watch. Here are some of the better photos.

Last week Ryan was the man of the match. He scored all 3 tries for hunting hills. I believe its from all my inspirational talks. LOL. The team makes you wear this jacket to school the next day. It's a little tight on Ryan.

Trip to Mexico

Carol and I just got back from a cruise to Mexico. We had a great time and I thought we'd share some photos. This is in Cabo San Lucas. We only had a very short time here so all we did was walk around town and shop. Clothes there were pretty cheap.
We went with another couple on the cruise, Carl and Stacey. In Cabo San Lucas, Sammy Haggard owns a bar called Wabo Cabo. We had to stop for a refreshment.

This is in Mazatlan. We went to see a show there that was pretty good. You can see in the back ground a bunch of blankets. We bought a few. They were cheap. 2 for $18.

I saw this boat and thought I should buy it. After talking to my financial advisor I was short on funds. I now want to start a buy Roy a boat fund. If any one is interested in investing let my advisor know and we can make arrangements.

This is the Sapphire Princess. The boat that took us on our trip.

This was in a small fishing village called Yelapa. There are no roads to here and is only accessable by boat. We took a small boat to here from Puerto Vallarta.

They were doing some work and they had a mule to do all the carrying of supplies. This is also the main street.

This is still in Yelapa

One of the stores did some wood working. I bought a small vase from there. With every purchase you get a free shot of tequila. I recommend skipping the shot. You may experience heartburn for the rest of the day.

I saw no windows in a lot of homes

The grocery store.

Our very first stop on the cruise was in Puerto Vallarta. Nothing says welcome to a new and exotic location like Wal Mart.

One the ship they had tropical night. They had a million streamers. The guys cleaning up put them in a pile and I thought it would make a good photo of me pretending to be passed out on them. Somebody else thought it would be funny to dump ice water on me. Can you guess whos arms are in the photo??
