Olympic Torch comes to Red Deer

The torch arrived in Red Deer last night. Mark and I took the "Park and Ride" bus to the event even though it was closer for us to walk (no sidewalk part way there). They estimate 15,000 people turned out; I think 14, 995 of them were over 6' tall because we couldn't see much. Below is the cauldron they lit. Ron Woodward was the final carrier in Red Deer. He is former president of Red Deer College and has contributed much to the community.

Mark posing with the Torch. They capped off the evening with fireworks that we got to see while waiting in line to catch the bus. It was a great night for the event, +2 degrees.

Christmas

Mark playing with his toys.
Ryan sitting by the fire. BTW, that is not me in the background.
Can you say "Redneck"? I think this is Roche Lake; I wasn't there as my family abandoned me on Christmas Day as I had to work....just trying to make them feel guilty!

What a mess!

Apparently Mark was up at 3am playing x box. He knew he had to wait until 6:30am to wake up mom and dad.
